Play backgammon against AI
Play free in your browser, on your phone or computer, with no sign-up. Choose a level, and a cartoon cat will feel every roll with you.
Three levels of AI
| Level | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Beginner | Friendly. Makes the mistakes most new players make. |
| Intermediate | A solid club player with the odd slip. |
| Expert | Looks two moves ahead and plays the doubling cube well. |
See your chance of winning, live
A win chance bar updates as the game goes on, so you can see how much a roll or a move changed the game. You can turn it off in the settings.
Learn with best-move hints
Not sure what to play? Tap Hint and arrows on the board show the best move for your roll. It's a good way to learn, especially alongside our strategy tips.
Did you win by luck or skill?
Every game ends with a report that rates your luck and your skill out of five stars, so you can tell a well-played game from a lucky one.
A cat who feels every roll
Your cat cheers lucky rolls, sulks at bad ones and worries when the game turns against you. Its reactions come from the real position on the board.
Does the AI cheat?
No. The dice come from their own random stream, separate from the AI's decisions, and the AI chooses its moves without knowing future rolls. It plays by the same rules as you.
